Real Madrid schedule: preseason starts in Los Angeles

According to Real Madrid schedule, the preseason 2011/12 started yesterday 11 July. The team flew to Los Angeles after a medical check-up and will be in the city for 13 days. They are staying at the UCLA campus where they will be training for their first match against LA Galaxy. They will have the pleasure to play against a former Real Madrid player, David Beckham.

David Beckham is now best known for their marriage with the former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham and they have become a trendy, popular couple with a nice family. They are one of the most seeked, loved and hated families in the celebrities world and a European fashion icon.

So, on 16 July, Real Madrid schedule marks the beginning of the preseason 2011/12 with a game against La Galaxy and David Beckham.

Los Angeles Galaxy, whose coach is the American Bruce Arena, is one of the ten founding clubs of the MLS, which began in 1996, and the second team with the most league titles behind DC United. Both teams, LA Galaxy and DC United, are the only USA football teams which have won the Concacaf.
The name 'Galaxy' alludes to the fact that Los Angeles is home to Hollywood stars, so it's not strange that Beckham plays with them, as he is a London celebrity which has become a worldwide one, too. Besides, LA Galaxy is the second team with the most MLS titles behind DC United.

None of the players wears the number '13' shirt. Why? A superstition? Well, that number was retired in honour of Cobi Jones, who played 350 games for LA Galaxy and scored 70 goals.

Apart from David Beckham, there are other excellent players who are worth to mention, such as the captain Landon Donovan from Ontario and Juan Pablo Angel from Medellin.
