The Real Madrid footballer received on Friday 4th November, at 4.00pm, the Golden Boot because he was the player who scored more goals in Europe during the last season. The ceremony took place at the Hotel Intercontinental de Madrid, and Alfredo Di Stéfano and Eusebio, Honor President of Real Madrid, where the ones to give this award to the Portugueses footballer.
During season 2010/11, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 40 goals, and this is why he has been awarded with this prize as he was by far the leader. Besides, he has achieved a new record in the history of the trophy: he's reached 80 points for the first time. He was already awarded with this prize in 2008 when he played for Manchester United
On the other hand, Leo Messi got the Silver Boot with 31 goals and Antonio Di Natale and Mario Gómez, the Bronze Boot with 28 goals each.
