Los Angeles was the place chosen for the kick off of Real Madrid preseason. They played last Saturday 16^th July against David Beckham's team. Real Madrid vs LA Galaxy ended in a 4-1 victory for Real Madrid.

According to Real Madrid schedule, the preseason 2011/12 started yesterday 11 July. The team flew to Los Angeles after a medical check-up and will be in the city for 13 days. They are staying at the UCLA campus where they will be training for their first match against LA Galaxy. They will have the pleasure to play against a former Real Madrid player, David Beckham.

Raphael Varane is the last of the new Real Madrid players, by now. He is an 18-years-old defender with a promising future and an already brilliant present. His main features are his height (191 cm), his versatility, his elegance and his speed.

The American magazine Sports Illustrated's World XI has chosen Iker Casillas as the best goalkeeper in the world, according to the Real Madrid web-site. But, Iker Casillas is not the only Real Madrid player awarded. Cristiano Ronaldo has also been recognised and selected as one of the best forwards during the 2010-2011 season.
